Shitpost / Memes Did the toonie trick on my TM22
Did the good ol toonie trick on the butt end of my TM22 because I was too lazy to get a washer but after a day at the range I felt something shake in the stock. Guess I have a legit washer now.

Toonie fit perfectly. I didn't exexpect the middle of it to fall out. Goes to show how hard that bolt is slamming into the stopper.

Could someone not just 3D print spacers/buffers with TPU?

Sure if you have a 3D printer. Doesn't make much sense to mass produce them for sale when you can fix it for literally $2.

I get that but not everything needs to be some big project cost. I used to 3d print shit like that in bundles for a couple bucks but the gun sites warned me I couldnt unless I made a business account even though I clearly wasn't profiting

Maybe a gun store would buy a batch of them but even if you sell them for 10 cents and mail them in an envelope it's at best 50 cents cheaper than throwing a toonie in it and most people will already have a toonie.

Fair but metal hitting metal cant be nice. Weird design anyways to have a consumable part with no replacement available

Turkish engineering at its finest. I just took mine apart again after 2500 rounds with the toonie installed everything still looks good.

I mean, if there's a CAD file flying around and you already have a 3D printer, people can print them out for 20 cents or less.

Yeah like I said, "if you have a 3D printer" sure it's a good idea to make one for yourself. To make them for other people it's hardly worth it unless you feel like running a Charity for the guy with a $600 gun that can't find a toonie kicking around somewhere.

This is so validating. When I got mine, I was putting 400 to 1000 rounds through it per range trip, and the charge handle completely ripped off leaving the screw in the bolt.
I had it maybe a month or two before this happened.
Wish I had known this sooner.

That thing is absolute garbage, it's so long that the buffer tube can only grab a few threads. I had to sand down the diameter too just to get it to fit, and it lasted a total of 1 range trip. It's great if you enjoy picking plastic shavings out of your receiver lol

You still keep the rubber stopper in there as well, the toonie is simply used to stop the sharp edge of the buffer tube from shredding the rubbr. It works quite well.

It isn't metal slamming on metal. This is the stock side where the plastic stock get threaded in. On the other side where the bolt is is the plastic stopper for the bolt. This allows it not to push the rubber into the threads. Nothing is getting damaged here and odells old solution to my knowledge was to ship you a metal washer.

1 inch washer from home Depot would have been cheaper. It's also illegal to destroy money.

I remember when the toonie first came out and people would freeze them to get the middle out. Bring it to the bank and they gave you more than $2 back

This is true but the time it would have taken me to go to home depot, park, find and pay is worth more than $2 and if times get tough financially I can always swap it out.
