Straight to the top shelf!

u/Fine-Tie2651 Mar 13 '26

Good for you, too many bozos on this sub buy 10 Turkish crap guns straight off the bat. Stick to buying quality rifles

The amount of "X time of PAL" posts and most of the guns are just junk lol

It was a tough call. I know. I'm shirking my Canadian duties.

Naw, the Garand was designed by a Canadian. It's awesome and I love mine.

3

u/Scary-Assistance-927 Mar 13 '26

Bingo!

3

u/AnniversaryRoad mb Mar 14 '26

You gotta get a Lee Enfield Long Branch next to complete your Allied anti-fascist collection.

2

u/Scary-Assistance-927 Mar 14 '26

It's on the list!

2

u/Mother-Visit-4202 Mar 14 '26

So it should be a m1 garand...

0

u/Mother-Visit-4202 Mar 14 '26

Is it really a sks??

7

u/XilingolShepherd Mar 13 '26

A SKS that can criticize the government

1

u/Reasonable_Camel8784 Mar 15 '26

I think it's sick, does anyone know a vet?

25

u/rastamasta45 Mar 13 '26

Perfect first choice, beautiful

u/Even-Somewhere-9554 Mar 13 '26

Nice. But to be a Canadian gun owner, you need to do as below. Please be aware that 1 and 3 are non negotiable 1. Take off your socks 2. Buy the Holy trinity of guns: a .22LR, a 12G shotgun and a SKS 3. Take off your socks

8

u/AnniversaryRoad mb Mar 13 '26

The Garand is a superior replacement over the SKS. It's the more historic, higher capacity option. Also designed by a Canadian.

9

u/Dill_Pickle_Tears Mar 13 '26

Why not both?

1

u/AnniversaryRoad mb Mar 14 '26

Yes. If only one, I would take the Garand. I'd still want both.

3

u/Tamination Mar 14 '26

You can have two things, but the SKS is a very Canadian rifle for being a Soviet design.

  1. See my OF
  2. Working on it!
  3. See my OF

How else am I going to pay for this piece!?

They can try to ban sks but that should not stop people buying it. You will kick yourself if you don’t buy a SKS when you still can, the price is increasing everyday

this government will ban all guns in the future so no guns are safe. The new Canadian gun trinity will be your fingers, a random stick on the street and nerf blaster.

Joke aside, get a good bolt action in .308 or 6.5 Creedmoor

Then you could try a MRA Renegade MkII. I got one, it is a coped gun and very accurate:)

Cz600 is a good gun but they are getting a lot of hate these days.

Otherwise, Tikka t3X ctr in .223/5.56 will be a great choice too

You’re doing gun ownership right 🥹

u/alexorange178 Mar 13 '26

Always quality over quantity!

4

u/Ok-Bowler-203 Mar 13 '26

You own a furry little friend too don’t ya, can see the hair on your slippers (unless those are yours…).

4

u/Scary-Assistance-927 Mar 13 '26

4

u/JAFOguy Mar 13 '26

Upvote for the slippers, the gun is OK too

3

It was completely reconditioned. The gun is basically mint inside and out. Listed for $4K but it came with other goodies.

2

u/boozefiend3000 Mar 13 '26

Such a cool rifle

2

u/Good-Mine-1409 Mar 13 '26

That's the way it is done. Took me 3 years of PAL to get one. No ragrets.

3

u/JinkalinkNinja Mar 13 '26

I wish I had the financial freedom to grab a Garand as my first. 10/10 no notes.

3

u/Scary-Assistance-927 Mar 13 '26

I didn't exactly have it, but figured why spend more in the long run on things I sort of want versus getting exactly what I wanted. I've shot my wad for a while.

2

u/scottsuplol Mar 13 '26

I’m not happy for you I’m just bitterly jealous

2

u/Neat_Imagination2503 Mar 13 '26

What Garand is this?

2

u/Scary-Assistance-927 Mar 14 '26

FKF Beretta .308. Danish surplus!

2

u/burntlandboi Mar 13 '26

Take those slippers off

1

u/Scary-Assistance-927 Mar 14 '26

Gotta subscribe to my OF to see the dirty!

2

u/KalashnikovParty Mar 13 '26

quality over quantity ahhh post

2

u/Spiritsonfire Mar 13 '26

My pal is taking so long to fucking come in. I’ve been setting aside every bit of cash I make on odd jobs through the winter so that as soon as it come in I can go buy my first two.

At this point that was of cash is talking to me. I just want my damn guns😫

1

u/Scary-Assistance-927 Mar 14 '26

Weird! From the day of my course to the day I received my PAL it was about 2.5 months.

2

u/TheTangerineTango Mar 14 '26

Nice! I own a 30-06 M1, and I love it dearly.

If you intend to shoot it a lot, may want to consider reloading to save some $$$ and more importantly; have fun.

2

u/Ok_Reason5045 Mar 14 '26

good gun but now overpriced

1

u/Western1888 Mar 14 '26

All guns are overpriced now.

2

u/Boy0Nacho Mar 14 '26

Im saving up and waiting for a 308 model. I heard 308 models dont need special ammo like the 30.06? Can anyone confirm?

2

u/Scary-Assistance-927 Mar 14 '26

I've been told 147gr .308 / 7.62x51 surplus is perfect for it. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.

2

u/siming_z Mar 15 '26

The 308 Garand is my first rifle as well, don’t wait, the sooner you shoot it the sooner you’ll realize how superior this rifle is compared to an SKS; ever since owning a Garand, my desire to buy an overpriced common SKS constantly dwindles

6

u/Denim_Danger0501 Mar 13 '26

Downvoted for covered feet

1

u/RedBoyRob Mar 13 '26

And I'm still waiting. 6 month's after doing application.

1

u/mwmwmwmwmmdw Mar 14 '26

makes sense its been 1 month since these things cost a months wages and thats with a well paying job.

1

u/PrizeWar6509 Mar 15 '26

Bro...I shot one once..

I had to hear the ping before I die ..
