In some YouTube videos I've watched, reviewers have said the safety scrapes there thumb when firing, any issues like that with yours?

Your LPVO on the supreme seems so far back. Good thing its not a big caliber you'd get a black eye.

556 is big enough. I thought it might be a crappy scope with an unforgiving eyebox but it's an Arken so yeah, wondering myself. It's as far back on the mount as the controls will allow.

Honestly I put it far back so my neck doesnāt have to stretch forward as much. Iām not tall and lanky so that changes things

Well it it fits and works great but it might not be the right scope for you. Different scopes have diferent eye relief

Havenāt tried the recon yet actually. Bought it for the 30 round drum mag.

Interesting that there is no capacity rules on a pump action shotgun mag whereas semi-auto there is ? I think it will just be a matter of time before that happens. An experienced shooter can probably unload a full mag in the almost the same time as a semi-auto.

Itās winter right now but Iāve been lucky enough to get out once a week. Just bought 1000 rounds of 223. I want to get either a semi auto 223. Either the Alcor or the new backland hunter elite. I know there are lots of bad reviews about both but those are what we have to choose from. I think the backland hunter elite has a fix for lots of the problems with the original.
One good thing about buying so many guns, I am getting good at pulling guns apart and learning the mechanics. Thank god for YouTube. I didnāt realize when I started this that I was going to love it so much. Everyone I meet at the range has been so helpful. They are happy to answer questions and give suggestions. Outside of the Reddit trolls, everyone is super supportive.
My first gun was the Tikkaā¦ I wish I would have got it in 308. Should have bought a cheaper 223..

Yeah, itās the ADHD. When I get into something, I REALLY get into it. I am definitely blowing through the ammo though. Thatās why my 2 favourite rifles are 223. Cheap ammo.
Honestly I only use 2 regrets. Tikka t3x should not have been in 223. Should have got it in 308 and bought a cheap 223 rifle.
Also the space cowboy 357. Wood furniture is way more comfortable to actually shoot with. It looks cool though.

that's what I mean - 3 months in, you don't really know what you like/dislike, and are buying based on appearance and imagination only. Make friends at the range, try different things, and zero in on what you like. I do remember first getting into things. I bought a bunch of guns in short order. Most were poorly-considered mistakes, and ended up getting sold off as I decided on quality over quantity. Likewise with ammo - you don't need a million rounds. Especially if you decide to get into serious target work. Who cares if you have a thousand cheap FMJ's, if you find you're more interested in shooting targets at long range? Get better, more accurate ammo, and only shoot until your barrel gets warm. A hundred rounds will last all day.
I like my Tikka Tactical 223 - it's a faster twist, and can shoot long-range 75+gr bullets if you want to hammer some gongs out at moderate to long range.
Would recommend a 6.5 creed instead of that 308, though for target work. It's the best thing that's happened to long range shooting - until it came out, there was not really a lot of options for off-the-shelf long range ammo. It was all handloader/custom made stuff. The 6.5 is specifically made for long ranges. Strange that it's gotten so popular, as it really is a niche use case, but I won't complain. I think it's more marketed to average hunters who imagine themselves to be thousand-yard deadeyes with their sporter-weight rigs. Whatever the reason it's true bloodlines are authentically precision oriented. And I could get ammo at Canadian Tire, too.

Ya I doubt Iām going to compete. I like cheap ammo and large quantities. 308 is easy to come by. I like blowing through ammo so cheaper is better. I think everyone should have a large stockpile of their favourite ammo just in case.

Also I would say from my choices, I donāt have too many poorly considered mistakes. If my biggest āmistakeā is that I wish I had bought a larger calibre Tikka, thatās not really that bad. It is a great gun for learning how to shoot. Need to buy a longer range scope now. š canāt wait to start hitting longer range targets. Learning to shoot 500-1000 yard shots is going to be fun. I need a mentor. Learning from YouTube is fine but real world teaching would be an asset.

Thanks for sticking up for me but itās ok. For how busy I am, I actually get out shooting more than most people in this sub I think considering itās winter time and I only have an outdoor range to use. Weather has been the only factor holding me back.

All this Junk? Thatās a bold generalization. Ok maybe the 3 Turkish toys ā fair enough, those are range beaters and I knew what I was buying. But lumping everything together as junk? I donāt think you will find too many people who agree with you bud.
Most of my interactions with gun enthusiasts have been genuinely great. Knowledgeable people who enjoy talking shop and helping others out. So Iām not sure what happened to you along the way, but I hope your day gets better. Iām terribly sorry my collection doesnāt meet the approval of someone Iāve never met on the internet. Iāll try to sleep tonight somehow. Iām sure your gun safe is full of nothing but museum worthy weapons of destruction that would make John Browning himself shed a tear.

I havenāt seen this much denial since I beat George St-Pierre in a friendly unsanctioned grappling match. That was almost as hilarious as that one time I gave Georges Laraque a bloody nose in a hockey fight during a beer league game.
Anyways, hereās the deal: Me and the fellas here at the hill took a look at your little collection of garbage you posted and decided that itās just that - garbage. You might be able to get away with that .357 Henry big boy (same thing your wife calls me) in a pop can shooting contest but that is about it.
You see, Iām a special forces operator. I know best, and you donāt know at all. Iāve conducted 8 tours in hostile territory, sometimes behind enemy lines. So regarding this specific topic my word is absolute. Have you ever had to kill a man when all you had in your pocket was a toonie and a torn off roll up the rim free donut? Well I have.
My point being is that I am better than you and more qualified. Therefore you should listen to me. If you choose not to, you are otherwise a moron.
