Gun and gear reviews Pinned Wrong?

Post image

I bought 2BX-25 mags from a Canadian online supplier. Tried loading them today and they won't accept the 10th round. I reached out to Customer Service and was told "Unfortunately due to the way these magazines are pinned, many of them end up only holding 9 rounds." Isn't it more likely somebody is drilling and pinning your mags wrong"if the rivet was an 1/8" lower it would take the intended 10 rounds without issue.

Am I wrong to be peeved??

Am I allowed to move the rivet and pin it to its legal capacity?

I had this with 2011 mags. They were pinned to BARELY accept 10 rounds but wouldn’t seat with the slide closed. I think this is just paranoia on the part of the importer/exporter. They don’t ever want to be in a situation where they end up non-compliant, because it ultimately could mean they lose the ability to run their business.

Fortunately, the way the 2011 mags are pinned, i was able to adjust them to accept no more than 10 rounds, and seat with the slide closed. So I’m not saying you should, or even could adjust these, but I am saying that as long as they don’t accept 11 rounds they meet the RCMP’s interpretation of the law, and do as you see fit.
