You sight one at 25 yards and the other at 100. Then make up a reason why.

This… might be a thing.

People running both subsonic and supersonic ammo in the same platform (IE special forces with 300 blackout) can justify a red dot with two different zero settings.

Eotech exps 3-2 Or even taking it further in exps3-4

Save yourself the cost of a red dot and just put a piece of clear tape on the lens and then use a red marker to put a dot at 25yard zero

The bullets go faster

if you put them beside each other you won't have to close one eye

34

u/FedInformant Mar 06 '26

You aren't supposed to close one eye when your using a red dot

22

u/anonynown Mar 06 '26

That’s right, that’s why you should mount then sequentially as depicted, not beside each other.

u/givemehellll al Mar 06 '26

If you mount three in a row you can close both eyes

u/717Luxx Mar 06 '26

how many to open my third eye?

Need a magnifier for that little fella

6

u/mywaaaaife Mar 06 '26

Easy for you to say Mr non left eye dominant

1

u/84camaroguy Mar 06 '26

You aren’t supposed to close one eye using any sighting system, doesn’t stop most of us from doing it.

1

u/FedInformant Mar 06 '26

Your not supposed to have an eye closes with magnified optics?

Honestly, when im shooting long range, ive found myself a few times with both eyes open without even realizing it and never noticed any issues with it. But ive always had the belief that you were supposed to have that eye closed

1

u/84camaroguy Mar 06 '26

No. Both eyes should be open. Less eye strain and better situational awareness, though some will place a blank object in front of their eye to block it from seeing anything but letting you keep it open. Despite knowing this, I still close my left eye most of the time.

Get them both mounted at 45° offset on either side.

Then with the irons you can have three separate zeros. An absolute win.

29

u/He4vyD00dy Mar 06 '26

You have to mount them side by side, then rest the stock securely against your chin and shoot with both eyes open.

15

u/AndreiHoo Mar 06 '26

Two is one and one is none, so you should add another one

12

u/FD4L Mar 06 '26

Put one on the muzzle so its like ironsights but electric.

1

u/Fine-Mine-3281 Mar 06 '26

ELECTRIC BOOGALOO!!!

u/xXxDarkSasuke1999xXx Mar 06 '26

Serious answer: there is a use case for chamberings that have two loads with wildly different zeroes, for example .300 BLK subsonic and full power. However this is pretty pointless in a country where suppressors are illegal.

1

u/cumbrad Mar 06 '26

it’s also decent for shotguns where you have one red dot for clays (zeroed to the center of the birdshot pattern at your desired distance) and one for deer slugs. But I don’t see many people using red dots for clays, it’s faster but it hasn’t caught on very much. Me and my friends do.

u/neverelax Mar 06 '26

Flood it again

6

u/Spartapwn Mar 06 '26

Green dot 25 yards, red dot 100 yards

5

u/Ritchie_Whyte_III Mar 06 '26

Everyone is cracking jokes, but now you have twice the zoom of one red dot.

4

u/MisterPineapple8 Mar 06 '26

On a sxs you can now have both your poi’s lmao

4

u/JaxIsLoud Mar 06 '26

Interesting idea for a 357/38sp. Have one sighted for each.

3

u/nsfw_acctPH Mar 06 '26

Acquire two targets at the same time. Don’t share this info with many people, you are part of the elite now.

3

u/AccomplishedYou2588 Mar 06 '26

We are in Canada. Go for the Hat-trick.

2

u/BestestBeekeeper Mar 06 '26

You can hit stuff twice as far

2

u/Left-Cattle7584 Mar 06 '26

Stops them from being lonely

2

u/Deus-Vult42069 Mar 06 '26

You can fire at two targets at once

2

u/archSkeptic Mar 06 '26

You can have a laugh every time someone looks at you funny for this

2

u/Gunpowder- Mar 06 '26

Get six more and line up each one in a circle for your buckshot spread like a video game

2

u/Bradster2069 Mar 06 '26

45 degree offset would be handy.

2

u/Future_Mistake77 Mar 06 '26

Double the accuracy, duh

2

u/Dependent_Account603 Mar 07 '26

For when one runs out of battery.

As a hunter I'll never use a red dot

1

u/Aether_rite Mar 06 '26

for the lulz

1

u/ovjho Mar 06 '26

They can call you two dots cause you got two dots.

1

u/King_Merovingian Mar 06 '26

Instant double tap with every shot!

1

u/goshathegreat Mar 06 '26

Not on a shotgun and not the way you have them setup.

1

u/coiine Mar 06 '26

As someone who sells red dots, I hope this catches on ;)

1

u/Ritchie_Whyte_III Mar 06 '26

I better buy stock in companies making 2032 lithium coin batteries.

1

u/therowdyirishman Mar 06 '26

Gotta go back to the pokemon training centre until you evolve those into enclosed emitters.

1

u/Moonblood Mar 06 '26

It increases the value of your gun

1

u/Cope180-Enjoyer Mar 06 '26

Factory Fun Runs.

1

u/Disastrous-Panic-87 Mar 06 '26

Like archery A dot at each distance that you want

1

u/Fearless-Carpenter18 Mar 06 '26

You need a third red dot, triple the accuracy

1

u/D_Chlorum Mar 06 '26

Zero them for different range. One for 10 and another one for 50 m.

1

u/CiabattaFun Mar 06 '26

Remember the old adage “measure twice, cut once”… this is like that, but for retards…

1

u/MacintoshEddie Mar 06 '26

One for each eye.

1

u/Timtam1225 Mar 06 '26

Yea you’re twice as accurate duhhh

1

u/chronsonpott Mar 06 '26

It saves you a slot in your bag for extra loot

1

u/SkSMaN7 Mar 06 '26

If you remove the rear site you might be able to squeeze in a third one!

1

u/LuckNo2351 Mar 06 '26

increase value

1

u/Sea-Tangerine2131 Mar 06 '26

Double the dot, double the MOA

1

u/Mahatma_Ghandicap Mar 06 '26

Practically speaking, you could have two zeros.

1

u/doublemint6 Mar 06 '26

On a shotgun, ha ha.

1

u/Loco_motive72 Mar 06 '26

Well mate, there’s two now innit?!

1

u/Less_Ad_6609 Mar 06 '26

Just like wearing 2 condoms

1

u/MajikManX Mar 06 '26

For the drip 🤙

1

u/RockSalt-Nails Mar 06 '26

Maybe if you have a SxS shotgun and you mount one over each barrel.

1

u/shekelMeGoys Mar 06 '26

Most useless set I’ve ever seen

1

u/walebrush Mar 07 '26

Double the tint for build in sunglasses

1

u/fi0x Mar 07 '26

You take a screenshot with every trigger press.

1

u/IPSC_Canuck Mar 06 '26

Because it’s always best to overcomplicate the shit out of everything when you’re shooting a match!

1

u/gramie185 Mar 06 '26

Sight one in for your left eye and one for your right eye so you can shoot with both eyes open for double accuracy.

1

u/PerfectTree1579 Mar 06 '26

All this sarcasm and no intelligence.
