Canuck 30-30 / Advice?

Just purchased a Canuck Lever Action 30-30 (Boss) from my local gun store. Currently seem to be having some issues with the way the action, slide and hammer work. Some clearance issues. It seems to open with minimal issues but closing is almost impossible as it hangs up on the hammer. Anybody have any experience with this particular issue, or have an advice? Currently still unused. Wanted to be a birthday present for my dad in May but obviously not if im gifting him problems. Thanks

I wonder how many that's why I don't buy Turkish or should have bought a Marlin comments there's going to be LOL
