First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

Shit really??? Got something concrete saying this so I can see how my "totally not liberal" friend weasels his way out of seeing that Carney and the liberals being fucking atrocious?

Seriously ive never seen someone so young be a boomer so much in spirit, so if you can link as much proof as possible bro.

According to the latest results from the Labour Force Survey in February 2026:

  • Employment declined by 84,000 (-0.4%) and the employment rate fell 0.2 percentage points to 60.6%.
  • The unemployment rate increased 0.2 percentage points to 6.7%.
  • Employment fell among youth aged 15 to 24 years old (-47,000; -1.7%) and men in the core working age of 25 to 54 years old (-41,000; -0.6%). Employment was little changed for core-aged women and people aged 55 years and older.
  • Employment declines were recorded in services-producing industries (-56,000; -0.3%) and goods-producing industries (-28,000; -0.7%). The largest declines were in wholesale and retail trade (-18,000; -0.6%), and 'other services' such as personal and repair services (-14,000; -1.8%).
  • Employment declined in Quebec (-57,000; -1.2%), British Columbia (-20,000; -0.7%), Saskatchewan (-5,500; -0.9%) and Manitoba (-4,000; -0.5%). Employment increased in Newfoundland and Labrador (+2,100; +0.8%) and was little changed in the other provinces.
  • Average hourly wages among employees were up 3.9% (+$1.42 to $37.56) on a year-over-year basis in February, following growth of 3.3% in January (not seasonally adjusted).

Here's a fun thought process, how much could we bolster our local economy if we could buy handguns and oic banned items tomorrow? How about a 750 million dollar injection into local business?

Best we'll see from the government is more unchecked immigration for easy wage suppression. Those youth employment stats are damning.

Youth not having jobs is pretty bad cos they start earning money later. Less of a pension, less savings and less things to buy and enjoy. Life’s cooked.

I mean if its not obvious by now, the government(LPC) and Canada doesnt give two shits about the young of this country. We are an inconvenience. They would rather, and are happy to just replace us with a revolving door of foreigners as it suites them. Watch them expand MAID to "economically depressed" young people soon.
