First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

It's pretty crazy the Liberals' and media's clear contempt for democracy. Carney is clearly strong arming his way to an unelected majority, and all the media mouth pieces are busy convincing us this is normal and evil impotent PP complaining about it is because hes insecure and ineffective as a leader.

Just saw Carney on X posted a video of the latest floor crosser as some joyous innocent occasion with the Office soundtrack in the back, completely surreal. And the dumb idiot dipper was reading some rehearsed script about how being in opposition to the Liberal government is "not constructive" and her constituents thought she was "complainy". According to their own stated logic there shouldn't be any party other than the Liberal party.

And of course Canadians are just okay with all of this

And the funniest part is now that they're feeling more secured, here comes the litany of surveillance and security bills. C2 is back on the table.

Of course because it's their team they don't care.

Credit where it's due. The Liberals have managed to convince the masses that an opposition is a bad thing and that they should run unchecked. Kinda wild tbh.

Honestly im torn between 2 futures i suspect we will go, the anarcho-tyranny route where criminals can go about their business but you a law abiding citizen gets the government boot, which is what we are looking at now (think like Brazil Mexico etc). Or one where the incompetency is just here so all these laws can pass and very little happen due to the government being incompetent until they reach the desired amount of authoritarian laws needed and then someone competent takes over and it all makes sense.

Didnt fully explain my points but hopefully they get across what I think. Since we are so incompetent right now and it is just easier for anarcho-tyranny, it may go that way but all It takes is someone willing to go all out.
