First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

Fucking disgusting man. Im so sick of this country. Get ready for tremendous waste and net zero agenda to be steamrolled over all of us. Say good-bye to any hope of this country ever becoming affordable again with gas skyrocketing and no "major projects" actually happening, while government pisses away billions and billions of dollars on absolutely useless garbage programs, consultants and studies.

We can still make this confiscation unfeasible for them though. Best we can all hope for now is a couple resignations over the next year or 2, and maybe any provincial elections going conservative. One year down, 3 to go. I kind of root for things to get worse, not because I want folks to suffer, but want them to give their heads a shake.

This is where we differ, I want people to suffer because this is what we fucking deserve. 10 years of poverty just to double down on another 4 to 8 if not more with immigrants coming in in waves to fill in the gaps of the boomer vote dying out.

Not enough people get this. It wasn't that long ago that the shitshow of the LGR happened and that was only paperwork. Having to physically collect things from around the country is an entirely next level of logistical nightmare.

And to all the people saying they'll arrest everyone: lol, really? The DoJ shit the bed and the government changed the fucking law when ~200 people made applications under Section 74 of the FA in 2020, how do you expect they are going to process thousands of extra people through the court system?

My bet: either this will end formally with grandfathering after the "compensation program" fails or it'll end informally with endless amnesty extensions (just like the LGR until it was finally scrapped).

Even then, the hard reality is that time is on their side: nobody is getting younger and my bet is that very few will properly instruct their families to keep their guns hidden away after they are dead. Ownership might not be completely dead by the time the next election rolls around but effectively will be in 60 years, so they still win. But at least those fucking hags at Poly, CGC and the Spin Docs will have to die knowing they never took our guns from us.
