News / Politics / Activism Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

So how the fuck are liberals this high in the polls? Are boomers coming out in force this hard? Winemoms in suburbs? Everything has gotten more expensive, we are literally starting to be in the " cutting back on every program " phase of government and they still support? On almost every metric we are worse of than fucking Alabama???

What the actual hell is going on with people? Is this country even for me anymore?

Guns aside, it feels like the boomers traded my future for their property values.

This country is an insane asylum. Look at the politicians. It’s like they aren’t from this planet.

It's scary to think that not only they ARE from this planet, but they also seem to be a fair representation of the average voter...

Melanie Joly still up their drunk screaming about "Canada had the best economy in the G7!!!!"  Yeah Joly, maybe look outside your fucking 300k overpaid bullshit Ottawa job, and you'll see cost of living is still exploding and Canadians are getting fucked.

The cost to fill my truck each week just jumped from $130 to $180. $200 a month MORE I'm going to be spending on gas now. Ouch. I guess the Liberals don't mind when prices go up though, because it means more tax revenue since it is a percentage of the total price.

Couldn’t agree more. I’ve recently spoke to two (boomer) voting conservatives. At least they voted conservative this last time and they both hate pierre now. They say they almost regret voting for him and carney seems to be doing a good job. I tried to pick their brain a bit more and I realized they just consume the mainstream media. It’s as simple as that, comfortable people watch the brainless news in the morning or while they’re at the dentist and that’s where it ends. No more thought other than that. It’s actually surprising these folks still voted conservative last election.

Kanaduh is a weak vassal state bordered by 4 great powers on all sides. Boomers are a generation of entitlement and false superiority. The latter applies to kanaduhians of the laurentian mindset.

Nobody wants to call it for what it is and so they will flock to whoever makes them feel better than xyz. Currently, that is americans. Denying reality is part and parcel to maintaining the elbows up illusion.

Its the usual hypocritical cult mentality at the end of the day. Theres very little ability to reason with it. Its why they all love Carney, hated trudeau but still voted for his lackeys who enabled the latter to destroy everything. All while frothing at the mouth that we vote for individuals not the party. Championing democracy while fondling themselves to the idea of an unelected majorities via floor crossings. Saying its not a team event in one breath while drooling cope the next.

Forget the floor crossings, the attacks on personal rights and freedoms has been rather unprecedented (thinking various censorship initiatives, for example). You'd think, who in his right mind would support that? And yet...
