Buy recommendations Poll: Need a .223 to burn ammo

I know one is a bolt action and the other is a straight pull, both would get a new AR Magpul stock / and buffer tube for the CZ, and both would get the LPVO treatment. Just looking at hitting steel in the 100-200 yard range, with some closer (50 yards and in) target shooting. Built quality and reliability is important to me. I have .223 ammo but no longer anything to shoot with so one of these would be it. Both rifles are basically the same price.

What’s your choice?

I think you gotta decide what you want more.

Folded up, the cz trail is the same size as the MRA.  So do you want the compact short barrel, or do you want a longer barrel.

Straightpull vs bolt also leans towards the CZ Trail

However,  pricewise, I believe the Trail can be found for a bit cheaper. Mine in 7.62x39 was only 990 bucks.

Just looking for opinions before making my final decision. Leaning towards shorter (MRA 12.5”). Right now both the Renegade MKII and the 600+ Trail are 1.5k.

What did you mean by this comment? “Straightpull vs bolt also leans towards the CZ Trail”

Ah sorry that was a mistyped.  I mean leaning towards the MRA, as folks generally say a straight-up is better than a bolt action. Faster  plus the possibility to add a pump action adaptor for it

If this helps, the Trail is 1200

So definitely the cheaper option.  I like mine, Even with the normal stock.
