Application / Regulation advice If push comes to shove - destruction question

I have absolutely no intention of forfeiting my working AR15 to the state.

That being said, if it comes down to the wire and they start leaning on us even harder as October 30 approaches, are they expecting to steal intact, working rifles?

Because I have a chop saw, and will cut my rifle into pieces and bring the scraps in a bag to the cop shop. Because fuck ’em is why.

Being the dickhead statists they are, you would probably have to make sure that the scraps have a “trigger lock” and are enclosed in a locked hard sided container.

Any thoughts?

Is there a legal definition of what makes a firearm destroyed? How destroyed does it have to be?

The biggest issue is if you do report it destroyed, make sure its actually destroyed, because if some reason they take it upon themselves to verify it, you are now in way more trouble than if you just refused to comply.

I don't think i would chop one up and then toss it scrap bin, I would probably keep at least enough if it to verify that it had been destroyed should they decide (whether they have the jurisdiction or not) to come looking for it.

Obviously you should talk to a firearms lawyer, but you're not obligated to prove or keep anything. Report it in a timely manner that it was destroyed prior to the end of the amnesty and that's that.
