People do. And yet even then you cant kill someone for trying to take your possessions.

I'd argue a country is a possession so again please tell me why it's okay for the government and the rich to protect there property with as you put in another comment "deterrents" but when a regular peon does it that's a no no.

You can. They are also restricted to reasonable force. Just like we are.
