Crusader Arms Templar

So the new ban lists pretty much every semi auto 223/556 except the Crusader Arms Crypto and Templar... it also states that any AR180 variant is prohibited, so it's safe to say that while I'm in possession of a firearm that is not specifically listed (for now) I still can't use it? The next election can't come quick enough.

All you have to do is read the definition. All variants. Templar is just the Sentinel, and the Crux's are just beefed up Templars. You can do your due diligence and ask the manufacturer or see that no gunshop in Canada has them up for sale anymore. When you're talking potential years in prison you should know what is prohibited.

One of my local ranges has a crypto and a Templar up for people to rent out LOL. Never had a problem with the Templar at any of the local ranges, all of the law enforcement members and RSO’s that have seen it love it! I’ve even let a few of them run some rounds through it. If it’s not listed in the ban it’s not banned simple as that. It’s not a variant of anything the crusader arms Templar is its own gun, it’s not a ar180, it’s not an ar15 it’s simply just a beefy heavy non restricted rifle that complies with all Canadian gun laws.

I couldn't fet a straight answer from anywhere so I emailed the Alberta CFO because I knew someone would kick up a stink about me using mine, and the CFO themselves said:

"In discussion with one of the Firearms Officers here, the firearm you inquired about - Crusader Arms Templar - does not have an firearms reference number and we can find no listing of it being newly prohibited or of its classification being modified.

As long as you are in compliance with the storage and transport handling requirements for non-restricted firearms, you are permitted to use this firearm at a shooting range.

If you encounter any issues, please provide us with the details and we can certainly look into it further and connect with our law enforcement partners"

I saved and screenshot the emails and low and behold the first time I took it to the range I had a fudd come over and proceed to grill me about not being allowed to use it, even after I explained everything and showed him the emails he wouldn't stop so I just turned around and kept shooting to drown his moaning out.

People have said I shouldn't have emailed them but if it's being used it's on their radar, unfortunately I have to go to a range, I wish had my own land or spot to go to
