Weekly Newbies & FAQ Thread - Post your questions here for PAL/RPAL application, timelines, CFSC/CFSRC, references & requirements, or general new to firearms ownership -type questions

This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.

In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

Just got my PAL/RPAL in the mail. Submitted application online February 20th, marked received same day. References contacted via email, marked initial review complete February 22nd. Approved and mailed March 20th. Received in mail April 5th. I'm in BC so six weeks if you submit online👍

Mine was received by RCMP on 18th Nov 2022 and still nothing... I did a postal order payment so can’t even check for the date charged. Called them a few weeks ago and got "Yeah it all looks fine, we'll let you know if there's anything more required". They wouldn't comment on timelines either. Going mad here.
