I went to the Calgary gun show today. That was my first gun show and it really was not a pleasant experience. Mainly older guys being absolute pricks. In no particular order:

I had a stamp and was re entering, but that didn’t stop some random guy from grabbing my shoulder and saying “back of the line asshole”

I was talking to a friend about how I wanted a .308 M1 Garand not a 30-06, and somebody felt the urge to butt in and call me an idiot for my opinion. And also had the urge to share his l opinion about historical accuracy

I wanted to take a picture to send to a friend, and the vendor threatened to have me removed for photographing his merch. Later on I saw him berating this poor kid with a DSLR.

And just overall condescension when talking to most of the vendors and asking questions. It felt like the old boys club, and those under 50 need not apply. Was I just unlucky with my run ins or is this normal for gun shows?

Me and my wife went to Taccom this past year in Toronto it was our first time and we are new, but everyone was super nice and friendly. Pretty much every vendor gave us free stuff and answered every question we had.
