I'm paranoid of buying from a private seller. What things should I keep in mind so I don't fuck up or get fucked up. What public places can I suggest to meet at other than the owner's house. Police station?

Public parking lots. Mcdonalds works. Just try to be relatively discreet. Don't be announcing your presence to the entire parking lot.

Other than that, most people on gunpost and the like are honest. The gunpost review system does a good job of keeping in person scammers away. At least that's been my experience.
