I know, so my choice is between 2 versatile but "cheap" centerfire rifles, or one high-quality modern semiautomatic.

Srry, forgot to mention that nearby ranges allow pistol calibre carbines/rifles.

The only problem with B is that I wouldn't be able to shoot them as much.

But for prepping and hunting, I agree that B is way better.

Is the gun you are familiar with. Practice, practice, practice. 9mm Luger is much cheaper to shoot and a KelTec Sub2000 is easy to carry.
