Hi there, newbie here. I have a quick question about buying/shipping in prop guns from out of the country. If anyone plays Valorant here, they may have seen the prop guns that some streamers bought and I was wondering about the laws around getting them into the country as Id like to buy as well. I come here as I believe they are subject to the same laws as real firearms so I thought id ask here for insight. Thanks for all the help!

Edit: They don't shoot, they are 3d modeled designs based on skins from the game, and they have LED lighting.

I don’t think they qualify as firearms, so this probably isn’t the right subreddit to ask. Google it first, and if you don’t find an answer, look for a subreddit that has to do with importation. My guess is that they’re okay to import since they’re not firearms, but who knows.

I don't know the game/ items your talking about but you'd have to watch it for them being replica firearms (which are prohibited). Below is part of the relevant law, I can't look the while thing up at the moment.

replica firearm means any device that is designed or intended to exactly resemble, or to resemble with near precision, a firearm

I recall that different paint/color (orange tips) can still run a foul of the replica law. And replicas can also be different materials (ie plastic instead of steel) and be illegal.

Orange muzzle is an American law IIRC.

I think so, maybe British too?

What I'm trying to say is that orange tip and colour do not effect 'resembles'. So a thing that's painted pink and has an orange tip can still resemble a firearm and be a prohibited replica.

Depends on the judge, it may not be well defined yet.
