Weekly Newbies & FAQ Thread - Post your questions here for PAL/RPAL application, timelines, CFSC/CFSRC, references & requirements, or general new to firearms ownership -type questions

This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.

In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

These threads will be stickied for a week, renewing every Sunday @ about 0600 AST. Previous threads here. Take a look, your question may have been answered!

Ontario, Complete PAL Timeline:

November 12 - CFSC

November 28 - Receive CFO Stamped Results

November 30 - Mail Application

December 05 - RCMP Receives Application

December 21 - Credit Card Charged

December 21 - Application appears online. Status "We have completed initial review"

January 06 - License Issued. Status "Your application has been processed and your license has been issued."

February 02 - License mailed (based on the date on the document)

February 10 - License received

This gives me hope! I was approved around Jan 15. Maybe earlier but I didn’t check for a while. Hopefully this week 🤞

Hey again, you and me both. Was able to get in contact with CFO last week and she said it was mailed Monday. Chances are you and I should be getting them this week if not then the following for sure I’d imagine! Edit: it’s Monday and I received mine in the mail this morning, time to go shopping!
