If it says my pal has been shipped can I call them and get my license number and purchase a gun or do I have to wait for the physical copy

Stores are now asking for pics of the PAL card, so no not likely.

It seems if you call and you're polite enough, they will give you your number.

Theoretically if they gave me my number could I buy something though?

Some online retailers will let you with just the PAL number. However, if you still didn’t have your card by the time you received your firearm, you wouldn’t legally be allowed to be in possession of it. I’d just play it safe and wait for your card.

Online you could, provided they don't need a picture of your physical card.

Log in to the portal online. If I remember correctly, all the info you need to make on online purchase can be found there. (License number, expiry date) Although there have been times, most of my online purchases have not needed a picture of my license. If you’re having it shipped you’ll be fine, but if you’re gonna pick it up in store, take your card with you when it arrives. 👍
