In case you may have mistakenly thought the G&M was friendly, read this

The Liberals beat a hasty, but necessary, retreat on gun control

Striaght up propaganda. It says written by the editorial board but this came straight out of the LPC or Poly. You can tell because they literally have no fucking clue how firearms work

The Liberals now say they will bring back the amendments, presumably in separate legislation. And that’s good; Ottawa can and should crack down on the proliferation of high-powered semi-automatic rifles for sale in Canada that have no place in a legitimate hunter’s arsenal.

There is a need for a sensible discussion about how some semi-automatic hunting rifles are capable of firing ammunition that is far more powerful than any hunter would want, and which can turn a legitimate civilian firearm into a tool of mass murder and destruction.

Unless we somehow have semi-auto .50 bmg rifles, a .338 Lapua is still a common hunting round. So I don't see where there is any ammo "far more powerful than any hunter would want." They talk as if you can put more powerful ammo in the same gun and it becomes a death machine instead of just blowing up in reality.

Besides, a SP 338 is going to do a lot more damage than FMJ 50BMG.

Not that it's really relevant. You can't be "more dead". Anything like 308 and up is catastrophic to a human sized target.

Basically, they have to ban anything legal for hunting deer. Otherwise, what is the point?
