In case you may have mistakenly thought the G&M was friendly, read this

The Liberals beat a hasty, but necessary, retreat on gun control

Striaght up propaganda. It says written by the editorial board but this came straight out of the LPC or Poly. You can tell because they literally have no fucking clue how firearms work

The Liberals now say they will bring back the amendments, presumably in separate legislation. And that’s good; Ottawa can and should crack down on the proliferation of high-powered semi-automatic rifles for sale in Canada that have no place in a legitimate hunter’s arsenal.

There is a need for a sensible discussion about how some semi-automatic hunting rifles are capable of firing ammunition that is far more powerful than any hunter would want, and which can turn a legitimate civilian firearm into a tool of mass murder and destruction.

They make mention that the liberals need to avoid polarizing Canadians and stop using it as a wedge issue.

Well, right off the get go, wagging your finger in my face and telling me what I do and don’t need when the object or activity in question has been responsibly enjoyed and has been legal for a century is already polarizing. I don’t live in a maximum security prison. I don’t have to justify a need for anything. The only time I have to justify a need for anything is when I’m broke.

Why do you want to own semi-automatics?

Because I’m not a penniless hippy. That’s why.

You want “sensible” discussion? Then stop perpetuating nonsense. The people trying to build the legislation don’t know the first thing about firearms. Saying things like “Weapons that no legitimate hunter would want in their arsenal” and “can be transformed into weapons of mass murder and distraction” just makes you sound ridiculous.

I don’t take hunting, shooting or equipment suggestions from people who’ve done neither.
