Some bad news. Peter Julian has taken the NDP role of public safety critic and MacGregor has stepped down.

I'm not going to throw Julian under the bus immediately, he was the first person to ask the speaker to rule the amendment out of order.

However, I am very worried about what this will do to MacGregors amendments. I hope MacGregor keeps his seat in SECU to finish his work on C-21.

Why are you happy with the NDP? I just saw a CBC segment where the NDP MP bragged about getting rid of handguns and ar15s and how great c21 is if not for liberal incompetence. Make no mistake they are our enemy as much as the liberals are. NDP despises gun owners and want to get rid of legal guns as badly as Liberals. The NDP will support future bans on modern semi auto rifles. They only stood against the amendments because public opinion shifted against it. Thank you Carey Price.

Not happy with the NDP. I am happy they actually listened to their constituents on this. I also think MacGregor has done a good job in the position. It goes without saying the NDP is not our friend, but that doesn't mean we can't be happy when they do something good. MacGregor actually took the time to go to VFGPA and watch an IPSC match, ref an airsoft game, and talk to gun owners. We know he has amendments and it's likely they will at very least lessen the blow of C-21. That is why I say it's bad news he is stepping down, I don't trust any other NDP MP.

And that is something you have to keep in mind. We are not in a position to fix the bullshit the LPC introduces. The absolute best we can do is stall, delay, and get the best outcome until the CPC can get a majority. Through this perspective, the NDP did the best we can realistically expect from them.

I feel like I need to attach that last paragraph every time I mention the NDP.

Some individual NDP MPs are useful for delaying and obstructing liberal gun ban agenda, I will concede that.
