Yes, and I was thinking of that. We need to clarify what is a hunting rifle. It should include things like the AR-10. We should also push that ar-15 are perfectly capable hunting rifles as well...

Handguns can be revived through pushing it as an Olympic sport.

So paywalling handgun ownership exclusively to people who have thousands to tens of thousands of dollars to burn in an already niche aspect of gun ownership? How exactly is that going to revive handgun ownership in Canada?

That's not exactly what I meant. I meant more pushing the sport of handgun target shooting through the legitimacy of it being an Olympic sport. Kinda de-demonize them that way.

Owning a handgun for the sake of owning one is a legitimate reason. Having to justify it through Olympics will only make things worse for everyone

Well man, what can I say. Why not shotgun blast reasons for ownership. "Just because" of course to me, is enough reason, but for sport is another, and we could toss self defense in there too. But you gotta win over the pearl clutchers in Toronto/Montreal. Sport rather than just because or self defense is probably your best bet. But they are all valid reasons.

No I get you, but my point is the pearl clutchers in those cities are never gonna fuckin be persuaded on anything that involves self reliance. There's no point trying to convince them
