With that size of land you may be able to set up a safe space to shoot trap or skeet, where the shot will not fly off your land.

It's not enough land for safe rifle use unless you have suitable backstop/side stops.

Your neighbors may hear centre fire shooting in their house and maybe 22 depends on distance and trees and hills.

I will likely only be shooting 22lr. I have access to a tractor so I will be making a large berm and targets will be stapled to 5 layers of 3/4 plywood which should stop .22 anyways. I am fairly certain my neighbours will hear it unless I shoot CCI quiet.

I wouldn't worry about your target stopping the bullets (it may be a waste of wood). You will miss some times and it's your backdrop that needs to stop the bullets. Unless you want to keep your burm as lead free as possible.

I get a lot of material from work for free, otherwise I wouldn’t use that much wood. The berm will stop bullets.
