Weekly Newbies & FAQ Thread - Post your questions here for PAL/RPAL application, timelines, CFSC/CFSRC, references & requirements, or general new to firearms ownership -type questions

This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.

In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

Yes they are. The Liberal Party's recently proposed ban includes mostly non restricted long guns, and even some hunting rifles including some bolt actions.

FYI, the ban is unlikely to pass. The NDP and Green's (and of course CPC) are against it.

Yeah I thought that too. The only people I know irl who are for it are the most hardcore liberals, I'm not too worried about it. When I go to get my firearms safety course I'll ask the instructor more about it
