They're super, super cheap and low quality for the most part. Some people luck out and get ones that just manage to hold themselves together for thousands of rounds without issue but most will literally fall apart after a few mags and literally have parts that need to be replaced when you get the rifle to get rid of the risk of them falling apart in your hand.

If you want a 5.56 semi go for a Tavor, if you don't like bullpups go for one of the SIG's.

Same, plenty of other semi auto's that shoot 556 which aren't as bad as the 180c. Trust me, it may look cheap, but you'll spend a lot more if you want to be constantly maintaining it and fixing parts so that it doesn't explode or fall apart.

Get a Crusader Arms Templar or similar rifle instead if Tavors are outside your price range. 180's aren't worth it as a first gun.

Rifles are hit or miss, some parts aren't properly installed, low round counts until some literally explode. If you're looking for a serious rifle most 180s are not what you want.

I would like to see the 181 do well but Im also not willing to be guinea pig.

Me as well. I'd rather fork over extra money upfront and know I have a rifle that will outlive me, versus being paranoid over a rifle that might or might not kill itself at my expense
