Been looking into getting a reliable bolt action without breaking the bank. I want to get 308 or 30-06 but i only do indoor ranges so it might be a waste. What is the best bolt action that is accurate, reliable and affordable like sub 700-800. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Yugo m48 is still under 1K. Its in 8mm mauser which is easy to find. There is also the norinco m334 which is .308 but I think at the price range (and caliber) you want your options are gonna be limited if you were not thinking of the surplus/norinco routes.

An affordable and available caliber would be more preferable. Im not doing any super long range shooting anyways. Any experience with .22LR or .22WMR bolt guns?

Mostly just .22LR semis. But a far as bolt guns in that cal go you have a large amount of options. If you include lever in there it adds a few more.

I have heard good things about the CZ 457 though. Its on the higher end of your budget but CZ is a good company. I have a few of thier rifles.

Ya something smooth and reliable would be nice and doesnt break the bank, otherwise id go for 308 or 30-06. Nothings cheap nowadays either
