Just about to get my non restricted license and was thinking of getting the following rifles any suggestions?

-SKS(because it's cheap and has canadain roots)

-Type 81

-Some sort of AR180 variation either the...

 - Crusader Arms templar 

 - WS-MCR

 - looking at a few others (anyone know a currently in stock, fancy AR180 variant that has less QC issues than the WK180-c G2 and the MCR?)

Any input is appreciated (side note, inheritance will give me a Turkish clone M4 and a 17HMR bolt action)

You might grab an SKS just because it's possible it will escape tightening gun control longer than, say, the Type 81, because of how common it is. That said it's only relatively cheap, a pain in the ass to accessorize, and heavy in an awkward way (IMO). It used to be hella cheap which did a lot to offset the downsides but those days are long gone.

Got a local gun store? It's worth going in and hefting some of these firearms in real life before making your purchase list.

Looks like you're missing a .22. I know the .17hmr fills a similar role (which one will you have?) but the big advantage of .22 is the extremely low cost of ammo. 17hmr is about the same as 9mm (.40/round) while 22lr is commonly .10/round.

Another advantage of 22 is that they come in all shapes and sizes: bolt-action, lever, pump, tactical replicas, etc. Good way to scratch a specific shooting itch without breaking the bank.
