Do I need my physical PAL to buy a NR rifle, or can I just give my license number? Just got my PAL in the mail at my folks’ place but I’m out of town. The Bass Pro is close by where I am right now, so I was hoping to check out some guns on the way home.

I think all the store purchases in person need PAL. You also need to have PAL on your when transporting the firearm and ammo.

Maybe check out the guns and see if they allow you to order online and email them the pic of your PAL once you get home? That's what I would do. You probably have to pay ahead.

In person you'll 100% need the card. Online just asks for the number.
