When submitting a photo for your PAL application, what do they mean by "The photo must be original, not taken from an existing photo"?

Do they mean that you can't crop your face from a photo, or that the photo has to be brand new for your application? Because I have a really good, clear photo which fits the requirements that I took for my work visa a few months ago and am unsure if I can use that again or not.

Edit: Also, which parts of the PAL can/can't be filled out digitally? Can I type in the details digitally then have the references/guarantor sign it or does the whole thing need to be done digitally? And does their signature have to be done physically or digitally? Thanks.

For the photo, it means don’t crop it from another photo.

For the application, all the parts that allow you to type in the form can be typed. You will need to print it for signatures, and you have to mail it anyway. I wouldn’t fuck around with digital signatures in case they won’t accept it.

I did mine all digital because my penmanship sucks lol. Signatures were done by hand though, just to be safe/not cause delays.

No problems, processing time was on-par with everyone else here.
