Laws involving suppressors

Hello all I am wondering what are the laws involving suppressors when it comes to firearms. I know I could look it up but most of the language used in the gun law can be too vague.

Thank for the advice in advance.

The law is you cannot have any device that lessens the decibels on a gunshot. Any caliber any action. No vagueness there, just not allowed…

Thank you.

For the vague part I was referring to some of the other laws they sometime use general terms I find so it doesn't click in my head as well as it should.

Would you happen to have a link so can read up. Every time I try to find them I end up in a loop. Or a website quoting the laws

Section 84(1) of the Criminal Code prescribes any device or contrivance designed or intended to muffle or stop the sound or report of a firearm to be a prohibited device. The import or export of a prohibited device by anyone not authorized to do so, or the transfer of a prohibited device to, or its possession by, any person who does not hold a license authorizing its possession, are offences under the Criminal Code.

Thanks.

That makes me wonder about rifles like the gsg 16 that look like they have a suppressor on them. Are they just muzzle breaks made to look like a suppressor?

They are either muzzle breaks, linear compensator or just a tacticool devise that does nothing but add weight and coolness factor
