In Alberta, bought a handgun on Aug 30, still waiting as of today (Sep 22), so if it is a week here they forgot mine!

They haven’t, I’m pushing into 3 months, we spoke to the Alberta cfo at the calgary gun show last weekend. From the horses mouth 2-3 months currently for alberta.

2-3 months in Ontario? I’m 3 months into waiting for my first one, and don’t expect to see it until Christmas. Bought one at TACCOM 2 weeks ago and, frankly, don’t expect to see that one for about a year. Ontario, today, is sitting at about a year wait for anything purchased recently.

I heard a week for AB too. But I’m calling BS on that. My transfer from Aug 10 was just approved while I was on the phone with the AB CFO. So that’s 6 weeks.

I also have a transfer from Aug 22 (4 weeks) and Sep 8 (2 weeks), that still need to be processed.

I’m going to try calling tomorrow.. What do you say when you call? I don’t wanna be like “Hey, what’s the holdup?”

Rule #1 is be polite. These people are just doing their job and trying to keep up with the avalanche of transfer orders.
Rule #2 is be patient. This federal bill has caused a run on handguns that none of the firearms officers were staffed to process that volume.
So don’t call them because it’s been a week and some Reddit dude said it’s only taking that long.

Alberta is most definitely not a week- I am a few weeks shy of month 3 now, first purchase was July 7

Alberta is definitely not a week. I purchased on Sep 9th and it hasn’t been approved. It’s going to be a while.
