GSG 1911 Question about issues
I picked up a GSG 1911 .22LR and I'm having some issues with it. I'm a newbie so I just wanted to know what people thought. I field stripped it and cleaned it, and lubed it up and took it to the range.
Accuracy was great but cycling was really bad. Most of the time it wouldn't eject the casing, and if it did eject the casing, half the time it would get stuck in the ejection port.
Also, most of the time it wouldn't load the next round into the chamber. So I ended up having to pull the slide back after almost every shot.
Could it be the ammunition I was using? (CCI Clean-22, 40 Grain, 1235FPS. High Velocity Poly-Coated red & green round nose)
Is it because it was my first time with this new gun and it needs to be broken in?
Do I need more lube in it maybe?

Welcome to GSG 22 handguns. It's not you, it's the gun. I'd sell mine but I am sentimental and no sell, only buy.
Try different ammo. They need cleaning approximately every 100-200 rounds to cycle. With ammo that has issue I lube every bullet individually with bore butter.
The easiest solution is get yourself some CCI minimags. No SV, no polycoated heads, just round nose copper washed minimags. Or another gun.

I had this problem with my wife’s gsg 1911. Cycled terribly first time I took it to the range. When I got it home I stripped it down and noticed quite a lot of oversprayed paint on the rail and the underside of the slide. I spent about 30-45 mins using wet/dry sandpaper to remove the paint. It’s been flawless since.

Mine runs pretty good then and eats most ammo without too many issues. Mini Mags are flawless tho and the gun smoothes out with use. I'd just try and run a brick of round nose mini mags through it and I bet it'll be a keeper.

Run a couple packs of CCI velocitor through it, doubt you’ll have any issues with that!
Clean up the slide rails with some fine sand paper too! (to get the factory paint off it)
After that you should be fine to run CCI mini mag CPRN 40gr with minimal issues if any at all

Polish the feed ramp.
I say this for every gun, usually works too.

Get the ZRTS extended firing pin. It turned transformed my Sig 1911 .22 into a dead nuts reliable machine.

Take it to a gunsmith who knows 1911s. I would be surprised if the first thing they do is try polish something. Probably needs some tweaking and fitting of the extractor. And probably some other things. 1911s are old guns. They almost always need a substantial amount of hand fitting and tweaking to work. And every time you change any single part of it. It will probably need more gunsmithing and fitting and tweaking

But it's not a 1911, it just looks like one on the outside.
It's direct blowback with a fixed barrel.1

You don't get German Sports Gun in Canada? Your Canada? Weird.
Anyways, pretty much any 22LR version of a tacticool pistol or rifle will be direct blowback because a 22 doesn't have enough power for a more complex mechanism.

Two problems your describing failure to extract and failure to eject is this correct?
You can take it two a gunsmith for polishing and tuning or learn how to fix the inherent problems.
It sound like your using good ammunition as the blowback design likes 40gr high velocity. Seen a few problems with the poly coated cci but I would be hesitant to say that’s the culprit. If you try mini mags copper washed there might be a small improvement.
The problem is quality control.
First the extractor is sandwiched between two shims and all three pieces are usually covered in burrs from the stamping process of manufacturing. Over time with use this can sometimes self polish but to have them removed and tuned was the solution for my experience.
Second failure to eject is most likely drag produced by overspray on the slide and frame mating surfaces. This can be removed by carefully sanding the surface smooth without removing to excess.
Having done this allows me to run cheaper hv ammo like Remington gold 36gr and even some blue box Federal worked as opposed to constantly feed them a diet of mini mags.
