Bought 2 restricted handguns from a retailer May 30th in BC. STILL NO TRANSFER! It’s been 3 months, has anyone else waited this long? I keep seeing people saying they got theirs in less than 10 weeks. I called and got through all they said is “yup the transfer has been initiated, keep waiting”. This is ridiculous

Last I saw, Ontario is sending automated messages saying their current backlog is 9 months.

3 months does seem long for BC though, especially for a May purchase.

Ontario is sending automated messages

What? Where? I am waiting for three handguns and they certainly haven't contacted me.

Someone posted it in this thread a few days ago, or possibly the one from last week.

If it is your first restricted transfer, that will definitely slow things down. In Quebec, there are 2 queues, one for first time owners (extremely long wait) and one for existing restricted owners (long wait)..

The transfer time is depend on CFO in your own province, but I would call CFP and find out if it's been 3 months.

If you made contact with them, and it's initiated, then at least you are in the que. Sometimes CFO would approve it on the spot.
