I purchased a new handgun from Firearms Outlet Canada back in July and when I called them (this week) to ask for my transfer reference number they told me they were instructed by the RCMP not to give out transfer numbers due to it being "An invasion of privacy". Anyone have a similar experience or was that guy full of it?

Sounds full of it to me… unless there is something going on in the background that we don’t know about I’ve never heard of that happening.

Tenda gave me a reference # 3 days after purchase on August 9.

Rampart Corp gave me a reference # too.

Just called Easthill for another one and they said they'd get back to me.

Seems suspect.

Ah yes tiger arms.

On a side note all the guns ive ordered this month from various canadian dealers has been ignored for transfer numbers. I expect wait times of 2-3 months.

I didn’t get one either and they said it takes 7-8 months for my first restricted. Seems suspect will call and ask again and if not, will report them.

just curious, did they give you a ups/canada post tracking link if its to be shipped to you?

SFRC did not give me a transfer number, but I inquired with the store and they mentioned the transfer was in progress. I did not ask for the number, and when I inquired with CFP a month later they didn't even ask for it to find my transfer on file. Granted, I only had 1.

Marstar gave me the transfer number within a couple days unprompted.
