Historically it took a little longer for the rpal because they would call to verify your references for rpal where for pal they don't. According to some, currently with the cfp being so busy they are not calling references now.

Three years ago they didn't call references.

Both mine and my wife's rPAL, no phone calls.

Mine was issued beginning of 2019 I think.

I got my RPAL a bit over a year ago and they never contacted references.
