This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.

In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

You got the actual firearm transfer approved in 1 day? That's wild, I thought all restricted transfers had to go through Miramichi before they got shuffled to your provincial CFO's queue.

That’s right. The seller provided me with a reference number and when I called in to confirm on my end the rep on the phone said it would be transferred to the NS CFO. The NS CFO approved the following day.

Wonder if NS is caught up on the transfer queue. I know Alberta and Ontario got hit the hardest.
