Really noob question I am sure but here goes lol. I recently purchased my first restricted (Glock 19) and have taken possession, and have received my firearm registration certificate in the mail. I am under the understanding that as of now I would need to get an ATT to transport/use my Glock at the Range, correct?

ATT to go to your range is an “automatic-ATT” that’s attached to your PAL. In short, you don’t need to call to get an ATT if you’re going to your range.

Thanks for the response! I have read a few places that the Auto-ATT is valid for any licensed/regulated range in your province. I am in BC. Do you know if that is correct or is it just specifically for the range(s) that are attached to my RPAL?

I believe that’s correct. I have heard before that you do need to be “invited” to go to a range that you’re not a member of but I’m not sure how true that is. I invited someone to my range and when they called for an ATT, they just said no ATT required/auto-ATT is sufficient.

After your first restricted transfer/purchase you should be expecting two different envelopes in the mail. One will have the Registration Certificate, the other will be a new RPAL card and Conditions Slip. The conditions slip will be updated to say you can now transport restricted firearms to any approved range in your province for the purpose of target practice.

Once you have all three things on you (rpal + conditions slip + registration certificate), they act as an automatic ATT to transport your firearm between your house and whatever range in your province you decide to go to.
