My RPAL expires in August, and I submitted my online renewal in May. I'm concerned that since the CFP is swamped with handgun transfers, they won't finish processing my license renewal before expiry and the transfers I have in the queue will be terminated when my license becomes invalid. I know we have a grace period for the guns we already own, for exactly this situation, but I don't know what they do with pending transfers. I'm going to try calling them when the date gets closer if the renewal still isn't done, but I might not even be able to get through with the call volume.

Anybody been in this situation?

Start it now. You can start it early, iirc 6 months.

The renewal? I started it back in May, and it's not done yet. That's why I'm worried about it creeping past August
