I don't get all the hate towards Harper, sorta off topic, but he brought Canada's debt lower than it has been in a long time. And Trudeau managed to bring it higher than I ever fathomed it could get.😂

That is simply false. Harper added $160 billion to the national debt. His government had no problem banning the Swiss arms and the CZ 858 until the public outcry and then they backtracked. Harper was no friend to the people or this community.

The government did ban those rifles. The RCMP did by fiat.

It had nothing to do with Harper. In fact Harper fixed the RCMPs fuck ups by regulating them better.

You seem confused.

Also 160 billion over a decade? Compared to 600 billion in one year?

I'm not confused at all. Both Vic Toews and Steven Blaney knew of the ban beforehand which showed the Harper government knew the rifles would be prohibited and were perfectly fine with it.

Trudeau is worse on the debt. That doesn't make Harper any good. I don't support either. The world isn't black and white.

The ban was done by the RCMP not by the government.

Furthermore the bans were technically legal given some of the firearms were converted auto.

The RCMP was applying the law.

The government had nothing to do with it.
