Between Biden talking about 9mm "blowing the lung out of the body" (as opposed to .22LR), and Poly talking about the .223 round "going through walls", it makes me wonder how extremely distorted these people's perception of guns could possibly be. These are people that purport to support the ownership of "hunting" rifles. Do they think we're out there dropping deer with airsoft pellets? How can you be OK with a bullet being able to kill a moose, but be alarmed that it can penetrate drywall? I don't understand.

They have somehow created a cognitive dissonance in their minds. In their distorted view, tactical rifles and pistols are evil and made to kill people which they think requires inordinately powerful ammunition because people are hard to kill. Hunting rifles on the other hand are designed to kill animals which they think are easy to kill and are hard to handle and shoot. Therefore, hunting guns are safe and the caliber does not matter.

They think that hunting rifles are soft hitting because meat is soft. They don't know about skulls and bones because they get their meat packaged in stores

I disagree. It is a way to say they aren't banning everything. That will happen in ten years or so.
