Weekly Newbies & FAQ Thread - Post your questions here for PAL/RPAL application, timelines, CFSC/CFSRC, references & requirements, or general new to firearms ownership -type questions

This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.

In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

Theoretically yes. Make sure you cant jam your hand in the case with the lock on and touch the handgun. Some of the manufacturer cases such as CZ and S&W have a single hole lock and you could pull the gun out while locked.

People might disagree on the law in spirit vs practice but in my view this isnt the area to save money. Find a proper safe on kijiji or craigslist, doesnt need to be gigantic for just handguns.
