Week 3 trying to contact the RCMP. I have been trying to contact them for a very long time to make a transfer. I practically memorised their answering machine in both english and french. Its as if this law is already enacted and we cant make transfers, as if its being done on purpose to make our lives harder. Im aware that this bill hasnt been passed but they are already making it harder for us.

Does anybody have any sort of info on whats happening with the RCMP, when this stuff will be over?

Call center can’t handle the volume of ppl calling in due to the increase in transfers

Probably overrun with all the illegal gun owners and gangbangers registering their pieces.

I get we’re all frustrated but we know that’s not actually true lol

The thing is I doubt they're answering the phones. Last Friday I called every minute from 9 am to 12 pm and the second they opened it already had high call volume, something very fishy is happening.

They are there are some ppl getting in, but if you imagine all the gun owners all calling in with a call center that’s maybe less than 10 ppl what do you think will happen? RCMP probably tbh don’t even want this to happen but Trudeaus the one forcing it.

I've gotten into the queue at a few points where it says stay on the line, but it disconnects from their end after 3-5 minutes. I called over 100x today. This isn't right

legacy systems that are probably unreliable, they arent dropping calls on purpose imho

Sure except:

Mail

Use form RCMP 5492 for restricted and prohibited firearms. Both the transferor and the transferee must complete the form. Call the CFP at 1-800-731-4000 to get a form

This is from RCMPs website so yeah you still have to call them 🤣

I have a form provided by a range but not sure how correct it is since it is from 2012, but since its from a range it can be useful so i kinda bypassed that part i guess. Sometimes i get put on hold but then the call cuts and ends. Its a pain in the ass

Idk if I’d trust that tbh….

Some ppl WERE calling the non restricted line to bypass the call queue but since then now that’s being rejected AND random chance when they call another caller just hung up
