This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.

In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

If you bought a new gun from the store they do it though a web portal and it’s likely already done on their end. Now you just need to wait for your province to approve it. Then you will get an email. Then you can get the gun, take it home/have it shipped to you. Fondle it, take it apart and clean/oil it, wait for your new papers to show up in the mail, then you can take it to a range.

I am surprised the store didn't provide you with a reference number from the CFO.
