Just curious, how long does it typically take to get your PAL & RPAL and after you get it, how long does it to take to buy a restricted firearm?

Seems currently about 3 months after RCMP receive your application. It can take longer if your application has any issues or complicating factors.

Don't forget it takes some time to book and do the courses, and if you are in Ontario, it takes time to get your test scores back.

As for buying a restricted, it depends on your province. Alberta seems to be about an hour, Ontario 2+ weeks.

Here they need to physically mail a copy to you after. You know your score on the spot but the instructors need to mail in their copy to RCMP
