Thank you! I looked in useful information, should have also checked the FAQ. I've done damn near all of that stuff lol. No AR... Yet.

Seeing that makes me quite happy I got 400x CCI .22WMR for Christmas. But I don't think I can get wildcat in WMR, can I ? Not that I would after seeing this...

What’s the best 22 ammo? I need dis

Lapua X-Act for $0.50 per round. :)
Seriously though, try a bunch of different brands and types. My CZ really likes the SK ammo as well. This is a good place to look for accurate .22LR ammo.

Yeah, I really like SK Match and SK Standard for the price. Kinda greasy though.

I bought one of the mid grade sampler packs from Tesro and shot a bunch of them. My best rifle really likes SK Rifle Match but yes the wax they use is really greasy. I found Lapua to be the same if not worse. SK is a Lapua subsidiary so that may explain it.

Is this the same with out types of ammunition? As in is it that big of a difference with lets say varying 9mm ammo?

u/roguemenace Jan 16 '18
In general 9mm is less finicky than .22 for 2 reasons. One is that a small variation in powder charge won't have a large an impact on velocity(compared to a .22). The other is that due to the shorter ranges involved it's difficult to even notice the differences in accuracy.

Pistol ammo is different for 2 main reasons.
You can reload pistol ammo for better accuracy, 22 can only be bought.
Most pistol shooter don't need as much accuracy than rifle. Almost no one benchrest pistol. I don't know what the average pistol shooter accuracy in Moa, but average ammo is probably more accurate than the shooter.
I don't shot pistol, those are educated guess.

I'm surprised that your gun was able to feed them reliably enough to even do this.

Winchester and remington bullet bucket: because simulating malfunctions is too much work.

Confirms what I've long told folk. Bang for buck, CCI SV can't be beat. Isn't too harsh on the wallet, and spot on for accuracy.
