Fix my gun / Modding Makasi problems *fixed*

Alright, i will 100% give credit where credit is due. there is definitely some truth to the "break in" for everybody that was hanging from the chandeliers screaming it. Definitely to an extreme though. Decided to try a tiny dollop of fine valve lapping compound in the high friction areas in the action and I ran the absolute piss out of the action by hand while i watched a few videos to kill some time. tore everything back apart, cleaned thoroughly and re oiled the same as before, i had just enough time to hit the range before dark so I gave it a shot. It successfully fed the first three and then failed the fourth. After clearing that one failure, it has ran 200 rounds completely flawless. After 200 rounds and hours of cycling the damn thing including with lapping compound the gun runs like absolute butter, very enjoyable to shoot. That being said I still think its absolutely heinous it took that to make a $2600 rifle shoot. And to boot, after the handgaurd has been off a few times I can say with positivity, the hand gaurd bolts still mar the barrel nut. Its not horrible but its not a "fixed" problem.

Glad you got it working in the end, my man!

I can't wait to get mine and spend a week taking my turn to worry about if I got a lemon, or if it'll break in to a useable rifle.

Im super happy to just have the bloody thing work. Rdsc couldn't tell me anything but to ship the rifle back if I cant figure it out and brigade had nothing but forwarding my Info to the QC department to pitch. So my inner bush mechanic said to hell with it, Lapping compound it is lol seemed to do the trick

Was really considering dropping this with the hunter comp. Keeping the faith and keep the build I have in mind. Hoping to get news from tenda soon. Teasing with their IG stories lol.

For the unlucky folks like us that are still waiting on their preorder, would recommend we do a full deep clean before the first range session?

Always recommended for new guns.

True but apparently these come drenched in oil. I wonder if its for a reason.

They ship from florida.
Dry gun rust from the air over there.

The distributors are expected to handle returns for brigade?

You're expecting to be able to return a gun?

Wait, you need to take handguard off to get to the gas block?

No you just need a long flathead.

Thanks for posting your experiences and I'm glad you got your rifle to function reliably. But IMO it's inexcusable for a rifle made in 2026 to not work out of the box, especially if it costs that much. That suggests the manufacture is not paying attention to tolerances and QC.

I miss the days when you could buy a $699 Norinco CQ or M&P Sport and just have it work.

Absolutely agreed. With more coming out its sounding like the large majority are running fine out of the box. there are definitely enough having finicky problems to take note of it though. My shooting experience after having to fuck with it, id give a 7/10. the bolt release is definitely a pain in the ass to get used too, other than that I will say it is shaping up to be a fantastic rifle. Runs great, enjoyable to shoot and doesn't feel like your gonna break it if you eat shit hiking with it. If it wasnt for my initial issues id give it an even higher rating. Havent gotten to take it out to 200m yet but super curious to see how it does. 100m was a walk in the park.
