Fix my gun / Modding Gunsmith for shotgun fitting and small mods Hamilton/brantford area

Hello, I have a shotgun I’d like fitted and potentially another bead installed. Is there anyone in the Hamilton and Brantford area that is recommended? Or a shop perhaps? Thanks.

Al Simmons in Hamilton is where I take mine if it's something I can't do or don't wanna risk.

What kind of shotgun? Replacing a bead or adding like a mid bead?

Over under and adding a mid bead

Like others said Al Simmons has a gunsmith they send stuff to. I haven’t used the service but I’ve heard good things. They might be a bit slow to turn it around, gunsmiths all seem to be busy these days.

For fitting I’d suggest seeing a trap, skeet or sporting clays coach or buying a book and trying to figure it out yourself (like I did). Your average gun store just isn’t going to be very knowledgeable about shotgun fitting.

If you want to drop big money on a custom fitted stock there’s also Artisan Gunworks in Niagara.

Chiming in here to say I had bad luck with getting a low rise red dot sight mount installed on my 1301 at Al Simmons. The receiver was scratched and they fired my without asking me first. It was a brand new shotgun at the time which upset me not to get the first few rounds off on or even have that be disclosed. I wouldn’t have them work on any of my firearms in the future.

Herron arms and gunsmithing. He's in Fisherville, I'll be honest I've haven't had him do any work for me yet. But I have known Ian for a few years now, he seems like he knows his stuff.
